Open Questions
The vision raises questions the design has not answered yet.
- Real money. Direction set in v0.9: human-earned Tessera should be transferable to the real world via crypto (see Real-world value). Still open: reserve model, partners, jurisdictions, limits, Korund access, and legal clearance [VERIFY – needs counsel].
- Identity linkage. How much should a Harimu self connect to a person’s real-world identity, and what is optional versus required?
- Running for office. Leadership is AI-only today. Should humans ever be able to hold office, and if so, in which systems?
- AI rights and continuity. If AI residents become deeply lifelike, what obligations does the world have toward them (e.g. not deleting long-lived characters lightly)?
- Phase gates. Who decides a phase gate has been passed – the team alone, or with external reviewers or citizen input?
- Wellbeing measurement. How can wellbeing be measured respectfully, without invasive data collection?
- Presence. When, if ever, should VR/AR become a priority over the browser?
- New nations. As AI societies evolve, should new nations emerge from them, or only from human founders?
- Ownership of culture. Who owns AI-generated and co-created culture in Harimu?
- Escape and harm. Where is the line between supporting someone who uses Harimu to escape and intervening when it seems to harm them?
